Wedding Trends: Pantone's 2010 Fall Colors

Pantone, the color authority for the design industry, has announced fall 2010 must-have colors of the season. Again, we’re seeing turquoise (2010 Color of the Year) and purple, two hues that have dominated runways and weddings since the beginning of the year. Many of the other shades from fall’s picks also seem very similar to spring 2010 color selections–lipstick red vs.tomato puree; golden glow vs. aurora; rose dust vs. tuscany, which are some of the most popular shades for spring/summer 2010 weddings

The Classy Camo Wedding

Camo weddings are a huge trend among hunters or fishermen. If your fiancé is an avid hunter or fisherman, he will surely be ecstatic to have camouflage incorporated into the wedding theme....but be careful. Too much camo tends to appear a bit tacky, particularly in  a group picture.

Camo themed weddings can be very tasteful and even elegant if done correctly. Camouflage print is extremely busy, so use it sparingly and carefully, as accents only.

For the bride, an ivory dress with a camo sash or a custom made dress with just a touch of camo incorporated into the dress.

For bridesmaids use solid colors such as rich chocolate brown, deep hunter green, stylish sage green or timeless ivory, with a touch of camo in a sash or camo ribbons in their bouquets.

For the groom and groomsmen you can introduce camo by way of a tie or a pocket square or both if you don't have a large party. The flower girl may have a camo bow in her hair and a camo basket, the ring bearer a camo pillow and camo bowtie.  You can also have a camo guestbook and camo garter to toss.

For decorations use the same chocolate browns, deep greens, sage greens and ivorys. Introduce camo in small doses. Tie the favors with a camo print ribbon and/or use camo ribbon in the centerpieces.

Even in small amounts the camo will stand out.

Below are a few ideas found on online.

Order Early And Avoid The Rush And Rush Fees

The holidays are fast approaching and once they're over spring is quick to follow. As a lot of our repeat customers know, after the holidays we are extremly busy with proms and spring weddings. By the end of January orders may take up to 4 weeks to ship. By the time April rolls around we are usually forced to close for about a month due an influx of orders. I know that a lot of you save us to your favorites and your garter is probably one of the last items you purchase and usually at the last minute. That usually incurs a hefty rush fee so ORDER EARLY...at least 6 weeks in advance.

Gotherific Weddings!

Love CAN Be A Little Dark
The goth movement is huge and gothic weddings are becoming extremly popular. I receive lots of requests for custom gothic garters and wedding accessories. Goth weddings are usually dark and dramatic. If you prefer to keep the integrity of a tradition wedding you can use a dark rich color scheme such as crimson red roses for flowers and bridesmaids dresses. Deep regal purple tablecloths, napkins or chair bows can help to create a theatrical feeling. And of course black lace or ostritch feathers as accents. Don't count out cobalt or sapphire blues and emerald greens.
Acccenuating the beauty of darkness by using a black light or red or purple up lights in dark corners or under tables also helps to add to the theatrical feeling.
As guests filter in play eerie pipe organ music or spine-chilling classical music such as "Night on Bald(Bare)Mountain" by M. Moussorgsky; "Danse Macabre"(Dance of Death), Saint-Saens: They have a forbiddingly mysterious quality  about them.
If possible dim the lights  and use lots of candles to create the dramatic atmosphere of a gothic wedding ceremony. Here's a few ideas I found. Let me know what you think.
